Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be untethered from Infinite Warfare this summer, assuming a listing on rental website GameFly is to be believed. The site currently has standalone versions of the revived first-person shooter listed on its website, with the PlayStation 4 version carrying a 20th June release date. That's a whole month prior to the Xbox One version, which actually lends credence to the rumour; Sony has a timed exclusivity arrangement with Activision that grants it 30 days early access to Call of Duty goods.

Why release this a few months before the WW 2 game?

They obviously want to milk as much money out of people as they can. A lot of people will have not bought it because it was packed with IW. I wonder if it will be around $20, would be a nice game to get for that price

Ooh I might be interested in getting this. I'm an oddball in the sense that I've only owned Call of Duty on the Wii. My brother and I really liked Modern Warfare and World at War back in the day. I try to avoid this series because I know how addictive the multiplayer is and I have a lot of games in my backlog.

true, but that divides the fanbase as to what they can afford to play.

You think they care about that? Releasing it only with Infinite Warfare in the first place shows they don't really care about what the fanbase think.

You over looked the afford part, I'm sure the company wants strong sales number on a new game release. They endanger that with this mid season release.

I think most people will have already got the game if they are big Call of Duty fans (with the Infinite Warfare release). They obviously aren't that worried as they are also releasing Zombie Chronicles this month.
