Can 3DS games get water damaged?

Just wondering because I've had at least four games in the pockets of my pants when they're in the wash and just drying the games makes them play perfect

Yes, water can damage ANY electronic device SEVERELY! Although it may appear as if the games are fine now, the insides are already beginning to corrode, thus lessening the life-span for said games; even when dried. You are fortunate they still work at all even for the time being.
