Can it be offensive when you tell a gay person he is not very gay or as gay as another gay.

In this video, WHATTHEBUCK says some people think it is a compliment for telling a gay person that "he does not seem very gay".

Do you think it is insulting to tell a gay person that he does not "seem as gay as someone who acts Gay"er""?

It can be offensive. For example, if I told an happily straight male, "you seem less Straight". I probably make him feel awkward, or he think I'm calling him Bisexual. Happily and openly gay people most likely don't like being called straight.

I think when it comes to gay men, people think about really girly men. But anyways telling them something that they may take pride in isn't the best idea so probably best to keep off of that subject.
