Were around when older games were released?
I mean, imagine if Twitter, Youtube, Tumblr, etc were around when Pokemon Red and Blue were released. The level of hype would be absolutely insane, and the rumours would arguably be even crazier than they were then.
You'd probably also see a ton of glitch videos come out within days of the games' release...
Or heck, how about back when it was Nintendo vs Sega in the console wars? That conflict would be so, so brutal on social media sites and forums. The Youtube comments alone would be straight out of a nightmare...
Or even the responses to bad games as they came out. Imagine if all those 'bash terrible Steam games to pieces' channels were able to play Big Rigs or Superman 64 upon release date... The critique videos for those would be hilarious.
But yeah, what do you think? What classic gaming events and releases would have been a major hit on social media? How would the masses of today have dealt with some of the controversies associated with past gaming generations?
