Can you learn a new computer skill in 24 hours from a book?

I see a lot of books like "Learn computer programming, MS Office, etc in 24 hours"?

Did any of you guys have success with any book which claims you can learn a new computer skill in 24 hours?

nope, but I highly doubt it would take 24 hours to learn anything about computer skills unless it was something really big.

No.. I am a hands on kind of person.. I'd probably skim through the book first, and then jump right into it, and consult the book as I move forward to check my progress, or if I've become stumped.

Never tried it it must also depend on the person. If he can learn fast and hold on the knowledge in his mind or if he is to weak he can't in 24.
