Even though I haven't, I have a deep admiration for those who can build, rebuild, & refurbish. We have a local recycling place that fixes electronic devices. They employ a good many people who are knowledgeable in taking apart as well as putting back together items. So it made me think, who here has fixed, even rebuilt their game console? Was there a lot of trial & error or did it just come naturally?

I thought that once you open up the system that it voids the warranty?
At least that's the way the company that made that console is going to look at it. Even if you're a pro at fixing stuff like that, they don't know what you did or didn't do to that system so they won't warranty it anymore after that.

Yes, it definitely voids the warranty. They will never honor it once it's tampered.
Rebuilding a console would not be something I would be able to do at all. If I were to take a console apart, no matter how I set the parts out to put it back together I would still mess up and not remember where all the parts had to go and would need help to get it back together. I just leave that up to the professionals
