According to an investor document posted by Capcom today, the company is delaying the release of three major games. The releases of Super Street Fighter IV. Lost Planet 2, Monster Hunter 3 and will be "spread across all four quarters" of Capcom's fiscal 2011, which begins on April 1, 2010 and ends March 31, 2011 Dead rising 2 will be released in that window as well.
Capcom has chosen this schedule to "avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce," to "preserve the value of Capcom’s titles and maximize sales volume," and "expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward." Pushing back major releases will, of course, amount to lesser profits in 2010, a fact Capcom also acknowledges in the report.
