Read from Noisy Pixel:

Capcom recently hosted its 46th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, and the Q&A session was chronicled.

One set of questions regarded Mega Man, which, besides ports and collections, has not seen any real new action in the form of new games for quite some time, with Mega Man 11 from 2018 being the last major release.

One shareholder inquired about plans for the Mega Man series, to which Capcom responded that they are considering ways to develop the IP further, as it's one of their most important franchises. However, no additional information can be shared.

This reply is not dissimilar from a comment made in 2023, where Capcom stated that they were "considering how to approach the production of new entries in the series."

Capcom also confirmed that merchandise sales are highly sought after in overseas markets, with plans to grow this facet further.
Q. Please tell me about your plans for the Mega Man series.

A. The Mega Man series is one of our most important IPs, and we are continuously considering ways to develop it further. However, we do not have any additional information we can share at this time.
Q. What are your expectations regarding revenue contributions of merchandise sales from the Mega Man series?

A. While we do not disclose individual sales figures by IP, we receive a particularly high volume of inquiries about the Mega Man series from overseas markets. We will continue to focus on expanding this business further.

Mega Man has enough good games. He deserves a vacation.
I can't really agree with this, it's been 7 years since we've seen a brand new game so I think he's been on vacation for too long. :P This is what happened back when Mighty No. 9 was announced, there was a Mega Man drought so Keiji Inafune though making a game that was supposed to be the spiritual successor would make things better. Then we got a terrible game that was delayed numerous times. We waited a little bit longer and got a new game finally in 2018. Capcom only seems to care about Monster Hunter now which sucks IMO. (Not the franchise just the fact that they neglect Mega Man for Monster Hunter.)

Sounds like a "you are all our food now I'm gonna starve" scenario. When's Ratchet and Clank getting a new game, when is Spyro going to get a new game, when is- It never stops. There are so many good retro Mega Man mainline and spinoff games a lot of series never even touch and still never have. They don't have to translate anything and you can buy a vast amount of the series on modern consoles. We're only now getting a third Okami game.
