Catherine has only been released in America for a week and it's already breaking records. It has shipped more units at launch than any other Atlus published game.
"Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations," the VP of Sales and Marketing at Atlus told IGN.
"It is fitting, then, that Catherine can boast the largest launch in the 20-year history of Atlus, and continues to see strong sales at retail."
Catherine came out in Japan in February. The game's quirky story telling and mature themes made it a hit in Japan but no immediate plans to bring it to America were announced. Luckily for us, Atlus announced it would be coming state-side within a few months. It was released in the US on July 26.
