Changing Genders

I saw a question in NP magazine about if link was a girl and zelda was a guy. Do you think it add a interesting twist to games if the genders of the main guys (mario, Samus, cloud, snake, ect) were switched from boys to girls and girls to boys?

I wouldn't care too much as long as the game is fun, and they did not used too many stereotypes like the "butch" female main character, or the gay girly male who needs to be rescued.

I agree with froggy. I don't think the gender would matter as long as the plot was well written. I mean look at Raiden in Metal Gear Solid. He was so feminine(and still is), but he is so badass.
