Yesterday, the creative director Patrick Plourde took advantage of the European GDC to reveal the existence of Child of Light, a Ubisoft project on a smaller scale compared to the other titles he has worked on, including Assassin's Creed and Far Cry 3.
Patrick Plourde described Child of Light as a playable poem using the UbiArt Framework engine, the same engine used for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. If the details of the gameplay or even the plot are still unclear, the influences of the game have been revealed to be Final Fantasy 6, Limbo, and the animation work of Studio Ghibli. The only thing we know at the moment is that this Japanese-style Role Playing game will follow the journey of a young girl who will grow physically and mentally throughout the game.
