At noon today, Daniel Lamarre, president and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, circulated a video among employees informing 95 percent of them that they are now unemployed.

In the past week, Cirque du Soleil, which also owns Blue Man Group and V-Star Entertainment, has shuttered its shows in Las Vegas and around the world due to coronavirus. Following the show closures, part-time and contract employees, which include everyone from ushers to aerialists, according to the source, were told they would be notified when their jobs were once again available. However, remaining staff expected to be informed of further layoffs by supervisors. Instead, supervisors found out at the same time their teams did, leaving 4,679 people unemployed in a video just one minute longer than a television commercial.

I want to know what they will do once the show areas open back up to the public?

I feel they will be trying to get a lot of TV interviews from local news channels, and news websites because some people may forget about Cirque du Soleil or don't know who they are once the Coronavirus lockdown is over. It may take many months to years for the lockdown to be over if there is no cure and people end up getting infected very often.

TV interviews won't don't nothing if they have no staff to put on shows.

I feel they can also use TV shows and interviews to tell people to sign-up for job interviews, and can hire enough staff to run Cirque du Soleil.

Sadly, I read a news article that the Coronavirus lockdown may last 2 years or more in Germany and other countries, so It maybe a long time before we can not go out to crowded events like Cirque du Soleil.
