Civilization: Best Game in the Series?

For Civilization fans out there, which one do you think is the best in the series?

For me, it's Civ V, I absolutely adored the gameplay, the interface was intuitive, the scenarios were fun and researching felt meaningful. Civ III comes a close second for me, even though a lot of people hated it, I liked that you could unit stack and send massive armies for quick conquering, and meeting villages early was nice, too. Civ: Beyond Earth was a letdown, and Civ VI is ok, but not nearly as good as Civ V was.

Any other Civ players -- what's your favourite game in the series?

I have yet to really dive into these games. I remember stating a game on the Nintendo Switch but the learning curve was a little to great for me at the time. I have very limited free time (I'm talking like 15-20 minutes for video games) so if I can't just power on and play without going through the tutorial I just don't have the bandwidth to play right now. I hear these are great games though so would love to get into them some day.
