Many in North America have wondered when they could get their hands on the 3D remake of the original Kid Icarus. Available as a Club Nintendo bonus for 3DS owners elsewhere in the world, North American owners have had to wait for news of some sort of program. It turns out Nintendo of America has a different idea in mind - just buy one 3DS game, Kid Icarus Uprising.
Upon pre-ordering at "select retailers," customers will be given a download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus. Nintendo mentions the code will be given when Uprising is "purchased," indicating the code might only be available when Uprising is fully paid off or when it is actually available at retail. (We've contacted Nintendo for clarification.) Kid Icarus will retail for $39.99 and will be available on March 23, 2012.
