Code Geass Franchise Gets New Anime Series and Smartphone Game

The live-streamed unveiling event for new Code Geass projects announced a new anime series and a new smartphone game on Saturday (December 5 or Lelouch's birthday).

The anime series will be called Gode Geass: Z of the Recapture (Dakkan no Zetto) and takes place after the movie Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection.

The game will be called Code Geass: Genesic Re:CODE which assembles Lelouch, Akito, and other characters from the anime projects and allows players to experience various stories from throughout the franchise. Its gameplay has both role-playing game and simulation elements. It features brand-new, original story scenarios from leading writers and Sunrise, as well as numerous original exclusive illustrations. The staff bills the game as "the official sequel to the Code Geass franchise."

The game is slated to launch in spring of 2021.
