Code Geass is absolutely one of the best animes out there. It's actually commonly rated as one of the top few anime. I totally loved how they had a big variety of characters and yet so much character development as well. With only 2-3 "filler" episodes (as I'd consider them), the 47 or so episodes left of the whole anime are fully packed with a dramatic story that seriously wrenches at your heart!
You should watch it in Japanese, english just ruins it for me >< Trust me they capture the drama much much better in japanese, you can watch the jap versions (for the second season when theres a lot more drama) here

I have a simple saying, if I am going to read something it should be manga. if I watch it I shouldn't have to read much or nothing while watching. I like the dub voices so I will be sticking with the dub. though I have watched the big parts of R2 in Japaneses
