Do you guys like to collect anything in your spare time? If so, what do you collect? How much money do you think you've spent on this hobby?

I collect video games, CD's/records, and manga. Kind of hard to say how much I spent, since I've had some of those for well over a decade. There's also a handful I bought before they skyrocketed in price on the second hand market. Some of my DS and PSP games jumped up thanks to COVID, so who knows how much longer those will last at those prices.

When I traveled with my mom and grandma I'd collect mugs with my name on it. Though I think I lost most through moves.

I collect coins with unique designs. I also have a few old video games, and electronics.

I mostly collect Harry Potter stuff (that shouldn't come at a surprise to anyone).
I've got a few books in my collection that are autographed.

When I was young, I used to collect a lot of ps2 games. Then it went to basketball cards during the middle school & high school days. Then it went to ps3/ps4 games (then stopped). -- total from these past experiences are probably well over $500 (some bought on sale, some bought on retail).
I recently started collecting some funko pop figures. I think over $100 I've spent now. oops. That's when I learned to collect the ones that I like & display. Its crazy how drink brands are releasing funko (hawaiian punch/slush puppie/kool aid/coca cola)

don't get the appeal of those.
yeah there's so many to collect, but I'm only getting the ones I know & like. it can get expensive... haha!

Well, we only have a few. We don't try to collect everything. Just a few that we absolutely have to have.

I understand. They're not for everyone. What I don't get is why they charge so much for them? I get that some may be autographed but why would you pay so much money for one that is not autographed?
Some collectible prices are based on a combination of rarity and desirability, or some are just on rarity alone.

I don't collect everything. That'll take up too much time and money. I only have a few that I absolutely have to have.
