There seem to be few gaming stories out of Korea lately that don't involve some sort of fatality. In this case, a 19-year-old college student died after a 12-hour-session with an FPS at an Internet parlor.

The victim, identified only as "Moon," started gaming at 2 a.m., took a break at 10:30 a.m. to get some breakfast, then resumed gaming shortly after. Around 2 p.m. he collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced DOA.

Family and friends described the man as "habitually played the online shooting game." What specifically that is, no one knows. Cops are investigating the death.

remember folks, TAKE BREAKS!

Ok, to be honest I never took the "take breaks" warning seriously... I have definitely played games for over 10 hours straight and didn't feel to horrible after that. I'm surprised this happened, I'd be interested in what the cause was.

Well...If you ask me, I'd say all this is trash.

I doubt it that anything of this sort ever happened. How can anyone die due to excessive gaming? I mean, don't just put the blame on it...He might have died due to other reasons like ...I don't know, Head-ache? Intensive eye-ache? lol....something like that I guess...

maybe he had some underlying diseases he wasn't aware of... but of course if you sleep way too much you can die of sleep deprivation. but it's not even normal to be able to stay up too much.

I completely agree with you, adarshnet. It obviously wasn't gaming that caused him to die. I mean, the game didn't send a virus out to him. lol

How do people do that? From my experience, after playing a game for over 5 hours straight I NEED to take a break. I start feeling sick and my eyes start to hurt. I'm thinking their genes are made for gaming.

Seems like an addicted gamer. A good gamer will always know when to stop or take a break. In order to make sure you take breaks, you can always set an alarm clock which will indicate when to take a break. A one hour break is always refreshing after a while.
