Communication Skills in Games

There is a saying some people say, that you do not need social skills when playing games. Usually coming from those that never had played games that required effort to make sure that other people knew what to do and what to expect in what they were playing as a group or party.

Are there any games that you commonly play, that requires actual communication with those who you agree to play with? Or do you tend to play those games where the focus isn't on communication?

I really don't communicate in games, most people are children I don't want to deal with.

I mostly play single player games which don't require communication skills.
