So my computer monitor is about 5 years old now and although it still works great, I fear it could give out anytime. When I do have to get a new one, I'm wondering if there is anything I need to look for in a PC monitor.
You can just turn down the brightness and contrast manually in the monitor's control panels/buttons, and most LCD monitors should be good enough for surfing, and watching 720P/1080P videos these days.
It probably be best to just go to the store, and pick a monitor which is good enough for what you use it for.
A widescreen monitor would be good for video while a square sized monitor is better for documents, and web browsing. I think a 1080P monitor's resolution might be too big, and the font size would be too small 1080x1024 resolution on a 17 inch or bigger square monitor would be a good size for a square monitor for browsing, watching video, surfing the web.
