Update

Looks like everything but the slim has been discontinued in the Japanese market and most likely the same in all other markets.

As spotted by GamesRadar, Sony’s PlayStation Direct website lists both the PS4 and PS4 Pro as “out of stock”, but there’s an additional line on the latter: “there are currently no plans to restock this item in the future.”

While Sony hasn’t formally announced the discontinuation of the PS4 Pro, it’s likely only a matter of time. Production of the the Xbox One X has already ended, and while Sony has signaled its plans to support the PS4 for “several years after the launch of the PS5”, that was always likely to be in the form of cross-generational software rather than via hardware.

Shame, with PS5 here now and people buying PS4 since they are cheaper. Yet why stop them? they can do it for that much longer :)

This is a shame. I feel Sony should continue making more PS4 Pro because more people now own 4K TV.

But, the lack of new PS4 Pro maybe caused by Coronavirus lockdowns in China which may cause the factory, and shipping companies to slowdown or closedown to prevent new infections of Covid19, and the new UK Covid19 variant virus.

I guess it makes no sense to make more as they can just focus on producing the PS5 which obviously has stock issues. But I'm sure there will be a large number of PS4 Pro's to purchase from other retailers

It may not be possible to build as many PS4 Pro consoles because there maybe electronics parts shortages for RAM, Blu-ray drives, wires, cables, usb ports, and hard drives because of many people and companies buying electronics parts to build laptops, computers, and other consoles.

I heard a lot of people are buying a lot of computers because of many people working from home or taking online courses because of the Covid19 lockdown.

I feel the buyer demand for new PS4 Pro may not be enough for Sony to continue selling the PS4 Pro.

A lot of people who want a PS4 Pro may buy a used PS4 Pro for a cheaper price at a store like eBay or Gamestop.

What are the odds my already loud fan will hold out another 2-3 years?

Your odds of your fan lasting 2-3 years maybe good. I have seen some noisy PC fans and other types of fans like air conditioning fans which last many years of being used for many hours per day.
