Do you like the console wars and all the company vs company rivalries, or you dislike them for whatever reason?
Personally, I have a sense of nostalgia towards them. They remind me of the olden days of the SNES and Mega Drive where they had TV ads out attacking the other company and their games.
I also remember how the magazines had corny insult names for the rival systems. The Nintendo Official Magazine always used to refer to the Playstation as a 'Greystation' for example.
I don't like them. I mean when I was younger I was all like, "Nintendo is best SEGA sucks," but in reality, I missed out on a lot of good SEGA games because of console war stupidity.
Even today they're just as dumb. "Oh, you play Nintendo, I don't want any association with you." I know a person who told me this. Like we got along great before I mentioned Nintendo.
I mean I like Nintendo more than Microsoft and Sony and I may insult Sony a lot, but it has nothing to do with console wars. I just don't care for a lot of games that are on PlayStation. I will admit, there are some good exclusives that I may never get to play like God of War and Heavy Rain, but I wouldn't waste a lot of money on a system just to buy a few games and nothing else.
I don't care for them, but then I've always been a 'I like what I like, and I play what I like' type person. I just want to play games that I enjoy. I don't tend to like Microsoft's systems or games enough that I'd ever buy them, and definitely prefer Sony to them, but I'm not one to rail against one manufacturer or another. For the most part, the difference between the two systems is nominal. (Can't really include Nintendo in the comparison anymore, they're kind of sitting by themselves in the sandbox...)
