I remember having the old Atari & having it hooked up to the TV in our kitchen. Considering it was in the 80’s, it was quite good as a starter. Of course, doesn’t compare to consoles now. Then there was Nintendo 64 we had. I don’t know if others did this too & even WHY we did it lol but do you remember when a game wasn’t working, blowing into the cartridge helped?

What are some consoles you recommend & why? What makes one better than the others?

I would recommend the Wii, GameCube and Super Nintendo if we're talking older systems!

I'd give the Sega Saturn a little bit of love, too. It's expensive to get games for, sadly, because they're harder to come by now, but it has some true gems on it! Same with the Wii U, I'd pick one up and grab some games while they're super cheap, too. Once they become scarce they're going to do what the Saturn did and become quite expensive. The Wii U's a fun console, too, so that's a huge benefit! Yes, most of the good games are on the Switch now, but it's still nice to play them on their original hardware :)

My favorite was the NIntendo GameCube. I enjoyed more games on that one console than I did before or after. That's what I'd recommend if you want a lot of games to play.

I really didn't find many games to enjoy on the GC, played the GBA dock on the gamecube more than anything.

I feel that the GameCube fandom gets treated like the Dreamcast where everyone owned basically the same dozen of games.

That and they were commercial underdogs, so people are a bit overzealous on praising it. The console is also at the perfect age for the people who had it at a really young age are being really nostalgic over it.

I'd recommend Playstation and play only the games you hear are good around the internet. It's a great console although there are wait times in most games if not all. Maybe try Tony Hawk, FF7, Spiderman, Street Fighter, Spyro you know the games on the first notable disk console where people had great fresh ideas for 3D or updated 2D games. Then I would recommend the 3DS for the great Virtual title and the great library of games.

I remember doing this for my SNES back in the day. I would have to say the Super Nintendo is my favorite console.

As far as consoles I'd recommend if we're consider newer ones...I'd have to say go for the Nintendo Switch - it is just so gosh darn convenient!

I recommend the PlayStation 2 because it can play both Playstation and PS2 games. Both consoles have fun games for the console.
