Lots of news people at E3 to cover and discuss the latest news, not all of them were good though.

haha, funny. When people ask why a director is so important... it is to stop those cringeworthy moments where someone is being filmed and doesn´t know it. Happens all the time on local news also. You feel almost bad for the participants because it is not like they should ´pretend´ to be on air the entire time just in case.

I honestly think that these cringe moments at press conferences are only for the investors who can't be entertained solely by the video games themselves. For years and years , gamers have been saying that the press conferences were really cheesy and played out. Yet they continue to do these goofy things every year. Either they are tone deaf or are simply not trying to entertain actual gamers.

By far the cringiest presentation was Ubisoft's, which was expected. I honestly think they know their reputation and they do all that crazy stuff (like the beginning dance of this year's show) to one-up their previous shows.

I also found Zac Efron's facial expressions at the Battlefield Squads show pretty cringy, but if I heard correctly, he was high, so that explains it.

Pretty solid cringe, some funny stuff, but the guy interviewing the celebrities was just awkward. This shows the best way to approach E3 is the Reggie Fils-Aime approach, stay confident, say something bold, and laugh off any unfortunate slips.

As to why they still have these awkward moments, I think it's just inevitable with the format and amount of content they're doing live.

I think those E3 conferences are more awkward than cringeworthy. For me, this is not only cringeworthy but just awful:

The cringiest part was that Minecraft conference during the Microsoft conference that was shown in OP's video. The fake gameplay banter is just so awful and uncomfortable. The Ubisoft conference wasn't as cringy as previous years, but it was still dragging on too long in some parts. I wish everyone followed Sony's format: epic orchestra, short game introduction, then a bunch of game trailers and demos without unnecessary talking. Microsoft did that last E3 (sans orchestra). I don't know why they didn't do that this time around.

Oh wow, yikes. Every bit of that was...pretty horrible. The Minecraft one stood out, because they very obviously did not want to be there or presenting it to people. It just felt bad and forced. Also lb was right, a lot of that was presenters not knowing how to recover from technical oops-a-daisy moments.

yep, they all need to take speech class again.

Oh my god... I just felt that awkwardness like if I was there, every moment of if I was just like... why? I totally understand why can be this awkward, maybe they should feel the pressure of being watched and the need? of saying something smart or funny, they need more self confidence and some oratory classes, lol.
