Hi! We're launching a Strategy Gaming Podcast. It will be available on all podcasting services such as Apple, Spotify and Audible, but also on YouTube as a video series. Here's our teaser trailer:

Are you using AI for the video? thread approved

Negative. The video was made by me using clips from games. ...and that's my very snotty voiceover.

Thank you. We start the recording process on Sunday. First episode will be launched on 1st November.

Last night we recorded our first episode and we have three recording sessions scheduled for this week. That will be four episodes ready to go in November.

This has been a journey. After three months of planning, recording, and learning the ropes, we’re proud to finally launch Critical Moves. There’s a lot of work behind this, and the entire team has put in the hours to make it happen. Every bit of effort has been worth it, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

So if you’re a strategy game fan, dive in—give it a listen, subscribe, and let us know what you think. Join the conversation, throw in your perspectives, and get involved. This podcast is as much for you as it is for us.

You can find it on all your usual podcast services, Spotify, Apple, and it's also on YouTube!

Episode 2 was released on Friday:

The RTS Renaissance: Is It Really Happening? In Episode 2 of Critical Moves, we explore the resurgence of real-time strategy games and whether we’re truly in the middle of an RTS renaissance. We discuss how modern RTS titles revitalized the genre and attracted new players and why indie developers are the salvation of real-time strategy.Key topics include:
  • The evolving mechanics and visuals that have made these newer games stand out.
  • How indie developers are keeping the genre alive with fresh ideas.
  • Whether nostalgia for classic RTS games plays a role in the resurgence, or if there’s a real innovation driving the trend.
We also debate if this uptick is a passing moment or the start of a new golden age for RTS games. As always, expect some differing opinions, a few rants, and a deep dive into what makes RTS games still relevant today.
