Crytek who are the maker of Crysis 2 claims free to play is the future

Crysis 3 might be a free to play game.

I agree Free to Play is the future since Crytek won't have to spend money by hiring detectives tracking down people and companies who pirate their games, and might not get much or any money from them since I imagine a large percentage of people who pirate games won't have money to pay their legal fees, and the fine for pirating.

I wonder if Crytek also make their older game free to play in the future. I got a feeling games will have loading screens with ads, or sponsored virtual guns by real gun makers like Glock to convince older players to buy real guns in real life, or people have to pay for DLC, and virtual items to advance in the game faster.

Nope not going to happen since it would piss off all those who actually paid for the game.

I agree it would make previous owners mad unless Crytek reimbursed them via free mods, expansion packs, or virtual money which is similar to WoW Gold, and other In-Game currency for buying items.

But, I think after many years have past, Crysis 1-2 might become free to download like how Rockstar let people download Grand Theft Auto 1-2, and Wild Metal Vol. 2 for Free at http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/ .

But, it might be difficult finding a PC which can run older games since GTA 1-2 were release many years a go back in the Windows 98-ME days, so it might not work on Windows 7.
