Last week, a website popped up promising to sell brand new PS5 consoles that would be purchased, painted black, then resold for a $100 premium. That’s no longer going to happen.

SUP3R5 began taking orders—priced at $649—for these black PS5s on January 8 and claimed to have quickly sold out. This should have been the point at which orders started being fulfilled for the promised “Spring 2021" shipping date, but with customer’s money now in the bank, only a few days later this statement was issued claiming “credible threats” to the team’s safety.

The above image was posted before their Twitter account vanished. It's unknown at this time if those who bought in got a refund or if this was simply a scam.
 
Hopefully, buyers get their money refunded.

It is sad that people are threatening violence against workers who work at a company which paint the PS5 the color black.
 
Just mention this in the PS5 Panels thread. I think the threats they received were because they were scalping the consoles so people were mad at that. Not sure why they gave up especially because they would have made a huge profit.
 
Well, they had to have been scalping to get so many consoles and controllers to customise.

True. If this was done at any other point, no one would have had a problem. But I guess with all the PS5 stock issues, no one was going to ignore this company and let them do it
