Many of today's parents would simply prefer to pass the buck and blame everyone else for their fuck ups as parents and keep popping out stupid kids as opposed to keeping their legs closed and taking responsibility for their actions, and being responsible parents to their kids. Just look at their lawsuits against fast food restaurants regarding their obese children.

Considering the fact that these parents have sued video game developers, despite their ignorance of the fact that the ESRB rating is there for a reason, and won, then that means that this is also a preferable way to get rich as well.. and so, I really don't see parent's actively deciding to be responsible parents where their kids and gaming, and anything else, for that matter, are concerned.
