There are a lot of people that have this passion for their religion, for their favorite football team and so on.
One of the dangers of Fanatism is lacking peace of mind. When you are a religious fanatics, you will always be working on defending your religion with your last drop of blood. This is dangerous and I doubt no religion teaches that.
Secondly, Being a fanatics will make you lose friends. It is normal that we don't agree with most of our friends. However, Fanatism will mean we will end up destroying bridges because of extreme passion for a cause.
