Would you rather have a portable Dead or Alive fighter or a portable Dead or Alive beach volleyball game/love sim? You won't have a say in the matter, as Tecmo has chosen the latter for the franchise's PSP debut.
Revealed in this week's Famitsu, Dead or Alive Paradise looks like a PSP version of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Players get to experience the island resort life with the Dead or Alive virtual babes Ayane, Kokoro, Kasumi, Hitomi, Lei Fang, Elena, Lisa, Christy and tiny Tina.
Activities include beach volleyball, pool hopping, and casino games like poker, blackjack and slots. The blackjack side of the game features a guest appearance by Tecmo virtual babe Rio. This probably doesn't mean much to gamers outside of Japan, as Rio appears almost exclusively in Tecmo's pachislot titles.
Outside of the activities, you also get to interact with the girls. You can give them presents, including swimwear. Buy a camera from the island shop, and you can go around taking pictures of the girls.
You're out of luck if you want a portable DOA fighter, but if you want some virtual love as the weather starts to get hot next year, look for Dead or Alive Paradise on April 2.
That's just a Japanese date, though. Tecmo hasn't announced a final US release.
