Wow I expected a 40 min episode but they went all out to make a full movie for the finale. This season had bad pacing till now and people were wondering how they were going to wrap it up in just 3 episodes. Guess this is their answer. There's still a chance of salvaging this season if the episode is even better than season 2's finale or mugen train.
 
Whats been bad about this season? People were hyping it up before.

Pacing. Only 11 episodes but stuff was happening at too slow a pace all the way up till episode 8 with flashbacks for 3 included in that time. Really didn't think they'd make a good season going that slow.
 
This season is officially garbage. The last episode was 48 mins long that too with filler like scenes for 10 mins. Bad story, bad pacing, no hype, blueballing, flashbacks, cliffhangars, extremely underwhelming enemies, mid fights that were way too short, too much talking and running to pad runtime. And this is after we waited 1.5 years for this. This officially kills my excitement for this anime.

From what I understand, it is all a necessary evil to make the future episodes better.

That's just cope from some KnY fanboy. Creating new scenes the anime to make the fights better and have more content will not in anyway affect the story going forward because this was a self contained arc.
