If you've been working hard in grinding your character to port it over to Destiny 2 so he/she/it will be powerful and badass, afraid you're wasting your time. Bungie confirmed the following today:

“Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more. This led us to a decision that would enable us to serve both the game and the player’s best interests. Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.”

So right now is a good time to finish up the first destiny and drop it, or simply leave the series alone till the second game comes out.

That's really cool. I don't have Destiny, but it's nice to see you can take your save data, or at least your character over to the sequel. I know Mass Effect did that too, which is why I got ME 1 so I could play through all 3 with one character, but I never beat it.

Destiny looks cool and I wanted to get it when I first saw it, but it's like an MMO, which sucks because I don't like the whole "pay to play online" thing. That's why Dragon Ball Xenoverse was so hard. It had missions to do online and I couldn't do those missions. I think I heard Destiny's the same way.

It's good for people like me who are interested in the series (too late to get involved in the first now imo) and want to start the second game on an even playing field.

That's fine, part of the appeal of Destiny is finding guns and unlocking abilities. I just hope they deliver more of the story in game rather than making us read their website for all the lore.

I take it you don't have much online ability available to you?
