Destiny Beta Characters Deleted

The decision to not have characters from the Beta carry over to the release arose from realizations that improvements made to the game would have rendered the characters nigh unusable. Tyson Green, a designer at Bungie, explains that characters from the Beta ended up in "strange shape that would be confusing at best, broken at worst." This is due to the amount of balancing and tweaking that has been done to the game as a result of feedback from the Beta.

Is anyone somewhat upset about this? I think if I had worked hard to rank up during the beta it would annoy me to a certain extent but I can understand the reasoning behind this and think it is for the best.

If they can't be used they can't be used, but the user should gain some kind of bonus from beta and start like an extra level ahead.

Its not possible for them to do it now as everything's deleted but the idea makes sense.
