Technical details about the new 40-Gig PlayStation 3 are hitting the net.
According to Engadget, the new machine features the the 65nm version of the Cell processor, which reduces the power usage "down to around 135 Watts (down from 200 Watts.)"
So the console runs cooler and quieter.
Sony also made the heat pipe smaller, stuck in a new version of the motherboard, and added a button battery to keep time when the system is off.
Not huge changes, but small improvements. Sweeet.
