Diablo 2: Resurrected Ladder Season 2
Ladder is essentially Diablo 2’s version of seasons and Ladder Season 2 has been eagerly awaited since the remaster is now a year old. Season 2 of Ladder will go live on October 6 2022 and will introduce some fun new gameplay ideas.
Blizzard has confirmed that characters from Season 2 of Ladder will become normal non-Ladder characters (in the respective version of D2, be it Diablo 2 or Diablo 2: The Lord of Destruction).
Players will also have a chance to remove items from their shared ladder stash before it is overwritten by Season 2.
Terror Zones
Terror Zones has been designed to help players reach level 99 in Diablo 2 Resurrected: update 2.5 without needing to spend so long grinding. These Terror Zones are essentially farming spots with high-level enemies and loot that are fantastic places to bump your character up a few levels. They’ll also pop up all over the map.
Monsters in these zones will usually be two levels higher than your own character, and defeating these special ‘Terrorized monsters’ will grant additional experience. The idea behind Terror Zones is to encourage players will farm/grind in new places rather than just the final or toughest bosses.
To unlock the Terror Zones though, you’ll need to have defeated Baal per character, per difficulty. Those that have already got to this point with their characters will automatically have this feature unlocked. Waypoints and area names will also be updated to show when an area has become a Terror Zone.
As far as we know, Terror Zones only apply to Ladder characters and not regular non-Ladder characters.
Sundering Charms
In Terror Zones, players will be able to unlock Sundering Charms, these will make it easier to kill enemies in the Hell difficulty by nullifying their immunities. The more Sundering Charms you unlock, the easier it will be to get past monsters that are immune to certain attack types.
Before this, only certain character builds were able to take down all monsters in the Hell difficulty, without relying on certain tactics to take down enemies with immunities that made them almost impossible to kill.
For example, a character who mostly does physical attacks will struggle to kill monsters who are immune to psychical and will need to employ some form of elemental damage to win the fight. Sundering charms eliminate this need and are designed to encourage more build diversity.
There will be six Sundering Charms in total, one for each damage type in the game.
