It would be cool to have an auto-save function for forums since sometimes my browser crashes, and I lose everything I write before I can press the "post" button.
Did you wish forums have auto-save for posts, and replies?

it be good, but depending on forum activity it could be a major burden on the forum resources.

I can see a lot of members and spambots auto-saving posts, but forgeting to post or not post them, so there are a lot of unpublish posts which take up a lot of space in your forum database file which make the database file very big and bloated.
I wish there was a web browser add-on which can save what you typed to your computer just in case your computer crashes Firefox, Chrome, IE can automatically retype your message from it's saved version of your post in your internet history.

As often as my browser likes to crash unexpectedly, yes I would like to see this kind of feature..
