Yes, it would be a good feature if searchers can comment on search results and rate websites since people can see how many people like the website is, or if the website is a scam before clicking on the link on the website which can save a lot of people time and money from scams.

Yeah it would be pretty cool if results were based on user's likes and comments. However, Google and other major search engines have extremely complicated and secret methods of displaying search results. I'm sure they do a good job of eliminating such things. However, obviously some things are going to get through.

There is such a thing, let me introduce WOT:

http://www.mywot.com/

Found that after norton was unable to keep up with their firefox safe site checker. So I use WOT (which has a green, yellow or red circle next to all search engine links) firefox addon to see if a site is safe and it's most accurate so far.

That's pretty sweet. I downloaded it. However, I think seeing real comments from visitors could be pretty interesting because it gives more insight into what the site is like (further than safe, not safe, risky etc)

I heard MyWot is not as good these days since I read a lot of reviews on it, and a lot of webmasters were complaining a lot of troll ranked down and left bad comments on their MyWot website profile, and a lot of less popular sites were not rated.

Wouldn't that go for any rating service? Perhaps MyWot needs a better moderation staff.

I believe Alexa, Norton, McAfee SiteAdvisor, and other rating systems owned by American companies are more tough, and will delete wrong comments and ratings once proven wrong, but MyWot is based in Finland which makes them safe from American law of being sued for false claims. MyWot is basicly an add-on for forum members to rate and comment on websites, and the raters can be anyone who installed the plug-in on their browser.

MyWot is unmoderated, and the staff don't delete wrong information about a site. Plus, you can pay a bunch of MyWot members money to vote down or vote up a website, and leave nice or bad comments about a site.

They also have a lot of complaints on http://www.complaint...ot-c224561.html

People who made complaints claim MyWot is spyware, and track users browsing activity while slowing down their web browsing and PC.

This comment from the Complain forum also stood out the most.

KILL WOT, Fuck it! WOT is worse than Google, which is the "data collector", because WOT refuses to remove it's own content.
Even Google does it. WOT, how they call this spam-machine, and the community, are so full of themselves, that they think they are higher-class-people (99% of WOT's Platinum users are ones who failed at life, maybe to act like a boss)

Wikipedia also have information on MyWot not being very trustworthy http://en.wikipedia....ing_the_article

Criticism of WOT - source for improving the article

If somebody wants to add a "criticism" section (enlarging "manipulation" is not enough, as this is by far not the only issue with WOT!), then please look up on the commentary page for WOT's Add-On on the pages of the Mozilla project.
The guys who groom this article will most probably argue that that page may not be a reputable enough source, but at least you'll get a plethora of starting points: like ...
WOT selling their "seal of trust" (ha!) for hard money
WOT being used for political mobbing and discrimination of certain websites
WOT's system inviting biassed ratings (by its "ethics" evaluation category)
WOT actually being spyware (tracking the user's page access and sending it to their servers)
WOT being highly unreliable for security purposes,
etc. etc.

If there was such a feature implemented on stock search engines, there would be WAY too many spams

I agree, people can spam their link to get a top search result like people who spam their link on digg, stumbleupon, etc to get their link on page 1.
