I didn't notice anything actually.
Maybe unless you're now using the new YouTube design, which is responsive and the video player now grows/shrinks depending on aspect ratio.

However, I did notice lately how the video player on Nico Nico Douga now takes almost the entire browser window on my end (and it's no longer required to have an account there in order to watch videos, which has been the policy for more than a decade).

I didn't change my viewing service of youtube, so they must have auto rolled me into something.
