Discord to add forum option

What does everyone think about this?
I hope it won’t replace proper forums, I doubt it even index anything to google or have a proper Admin CP

Not sure how I feel about it as yet but it does look quite cool. It would be very helpful for bigger servers since it's sometimes hard to join a discussion

I looked more in to it and I don’t think it will replace traditional forums, it’s more like a Flarum based thing.

I know Discord already has threads but turning it into a forum might be okay but it feels redundant when you can chat about certain things unless it gets too active to catch up on everything.

I know Discord already has threads but turning it into a forum might be okay but it feels redundant when you can chat about certain things unless it gets too active to catch up on everything.

I guess it makes forums more relevant so it might help forums in the long run!

I prefer hosting a forum on a web hosting server because I can backup forum files and database files to my computer or another server. There is always a chance that Discord will remove the forum feature in the future like how Yahoo got rid of Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Groups, and Geocities.

So does removing features remove content or is it more a convenience using the forum format?

I think the content is usually remove when a feature is remove like how all the content on Geocities and Yahoo Answers are now gone from Yahoo server.

Using the forum format is also more convenient for finding posts more easily because it is possible to make different sections for different topics instead of posting it on a long news feed, or chatroom.

Surely, if they did remove the forum format, it would just revert to normal messages, right? The order of the messages might be messed up but they should keep the content within the server
