NIS America announced today that Disgaea is coming to Android and Playstation Vita.
Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound for Android is due out later this year, and is a reworking of the first Disgaea title, originally released on the Playstation 2 in 2003. The game will be free-to-play, and monetized via in-app purchases. NIS America President stressed to Gamasutra in an interview that "30 percent or more" of the game is free to play right at the outset.
NIS has partnered with Japanese Android game platform holder GMO to help distribute the title. GMO is in the midst of expanding into the US. Specific details on the game's microtransaction structure and US availability has not yet been announced. There has also been no word on Disgaea coming to iOS.
New details on the enhanced Playstation Vita port of 2008's Disgaea 3 have also been revealed. The game will feature new story elements, including new characters, as well as additional DLC and optional touch controls.
