With the acquisition of 20th Century Fox Disney can make a Mega Man movie if they wanted to. However, they did previously cancel a Mega Man movie made by Fox in the past. This means they are gonna have to go against their previous project makers if they want to make one again to compete with Illumination and Nintendo. The major motivator of this would be the fact Mario is now the biggest opening for an animated movie. It would take a lot of debranding on Disney's part IMO if they ever wish or think to make the amount of money to beat the title.
