When you play video games, do you pause at all when your cell phone rings?

When I am in the game, I rarely pick up my cell phone unless it's my mother. Every other time, I would either not pick up or pick up with a very annoyed/hasty tone. I don't like being distracted when I am gaming.

I always look, by I RARELY deal with the call/text when I first get it.

Side note: I hate when people I'm gaming with feel the need to call me while we're playing. Like.. you clearly can see that my hands are occupied, wtf?

Sometimes, sometimes not. It often all depends on who is calling. If it's a friend, I'll talk to him while playing. But if it's my superior WBA director or updates from businesses, then I'll pause.

Usually if I'm playing games I don't have much else to do that I would consider important. I'll check in between deaths if I'm on TF2 or something but sometimes if I get messages from certain people, I'd rather finish the game

I literally never get calls at all, and I prefer to email/text message with people over calling... So... Uhm, unless it's someone who I suspect wants something very urgently, I'll let it ring, and hopefully they will send a text message instead. If they left a message after the tone, of course I'll have to call them back or something, but a lot of the time I've avoided talking to someone on teh phone just by letting it ring, or not seeing the call. They later emailed me, or something like that, so I didn't have to tlak on the phone...
I don't know why, I just feel like it's very unpersonal to talk on the phone. Writing is of course, even less personal, but it feels so unpersonal that it doesn't really matter, talking on the phone however, makes for these "awkward silences", where you feel like you HAVE to talk about something, and it generally just promotes dead-talk to have something to talk about. While writing, you don't really feel the need to write useless shit just because there is a silence, because there isn't any "silence" in a text...

That being said, my phone is not even near my computer, so if someone called me while playing, I would probably not notice it, as the sound is turned off... Who'd want to call me anyway? If I did hear/notice my phone ringing however, I would probably pause the game/be afk to answer it, as it would probably be urgent if someone called me. Yeah, I might ruin the game for 9 other people in a dota game, or something like that... But what if my grandmother died or something? What's more important, my grandmother or a dota game? ...
Of course, it could be something totally pointless, and I could have just wasted my time by picking up the call... But you never know!

It really depends on who's calling and where I'm at in a video game. If it's a cut scene, and it's one essential to the plot, I'll usually ignore the call until I can get to a point where I can pause. Unless it's a call I'm waiting for or it's somebody important. Then I'll take the call and just see if I can catch the FMV on YouTube later. Any other time I have no problem with pausing the game and checking my phone.

I always pick it up and look who it is, and then if I don't feel like answering I put it down and keep going. On a normal day no not really.

Unless I am expecting a call, or it looks like a number that I should be answering, I will just ignore it. Gaming is much more important!

I rarely answer my phone at all. Even if I'm not doing anything. If it's important they'll leave a message.

I play alot of League of Legends. It is so difficult when I have someone calling or texting me when I play because I get so distracted. I usually ignore the alerts.

I'd maybe check who's calling and decide if I will or will not pick it up, but if it's just a text, I'll most likely ignore it until I'm done with whatever I'm doing in the game. If what I'm doing isn't too intense, I'll more likely pick it up as long as I know the one calling won't be pulling me away from the game.

Depends on the game I'm playing. I usually play games that can't simply be paused, so I only pick up my phone if I'm at a good stopping point. I only get texted though so it usually isn't too big of an issue. If I'm playing something like League of Legends I'll usually just ignore it completely unless I'm back at my base and walking to lane. Even then, I make it quick. It's still good to see what's happening on the map when walking to lane!

But, if I was playing a pausable game I would probably pause it as soon as possible unless I was focused on some kind of big boss fight.

You I can normally take a minute out of my time to answer my cell phone. It could be a family member in danger or something you just never know. So that is why I take time to answer my cell phone.
