I do believe some mangakas take extra precautions for the target audience.
However there are some anime, which doesn't really follow this as well. So, what do you think?
To an extent yes. You gotta figure out your main demographic first, and then focus on adding elements for crossover appeal. You’d be surprised at how many series are specifically male targeted, but have enough elements that females enjoy it.
You need a main foundation first, that way it feels less all over the place.
