Yes, I usually backup my website and database files for my forums and blogs to my home computer.

I tend to forget doing things like this when I am on my own forum. Tend to back up once a month maximum. I suppose I would start doing it more and more if my forums were more active.

I try to. If not you never know if someone can hack it and destroy your site. Plus you never know if you want to move hosts....because sometimes they charge to migrate your data.

I don't know any paid hosting that charges for that.

I've always known hosts to transfer your data from host to host for free?
