Do you believe customers are still kings?

There is this saying that customers are always kings and can do whatever they feel like doing. This makes me wonder how this is still possible considering how some customers behave when they are buying products or need your services. What do you think?
 
We have been told here "The customer is always right". I never believed that either. They are still human beings & do not have a right to treat others like crap. If they are wrong, they should be told they are wrong. Tactfully of course. Treated like kings & queens, don't care for that either. Some companies DO cater to them to make a sale but it shouldn't be overboard.
 
Nah, it's more entitlement more than anything.

Exactly, anyone who is a customer should be treated as nicely as they are willing to pay. Even though some bag their own groceries and pay with bridge cards and credit after. Some don't even leave their carts in the corral, or leave them ready to roll downhill after they leave or push them away like it's the plague. If customers are kings asking for things we don't have they should be treated like this:

Let me finish that for you, the customer is always right to know what they want. Not to act like karen/kenin b*****s and make low paid workers suicidal.

Going overboard to serve a customer can be sickening. This is why I like it when our boss at the workplace take difficult decisions to protect staff from some customers' bad attitudes.
 
It's in the olden days that business phrase customers are always right works. If you try shit in my business, I will walk you out ASAP.

Bosses need to be able to make those hard decisions. That goes for Admins on forums as well.

I agree with you on bosses making the key decisions. It is very important, if they want the business to move forward.

Yes customers are the king because they are the life wire of every business.
 
Yes, customers are kings but a stupid customer can go to hell for all I care if it's my business they bring their stupidity.
