I feel the Universe would have a physical end because everything is made of some material/atoms of elements like metal like copper, gases like oxygen, and liquids like water.

I don't believe that the Universe has an infinite amount of gases. metal, and liquids where a spacecraft can keep flying in the universe forever.
 
Why ask that?
