Do you evacuate or stay put for hurricanes?

Do you heed the guidelines of a massive storm and seek higher ground? Or do you board up your windows and ride it out for the duration?

Hurricane or Tornado, I would seek safety.

I would evacuate during a hurricane.

We have always stayed behind primarily for the dogs we've had. Most of which were saint beranrds but now (after 10 of them) we have a terrier mix. In a situation where a major hurricane were to appear we'd probably stay behind---though a few years a go we were tempted to leave when a category 5 was coming. Luckily when we decided to say it became a 3 or 2. We wouldn't be here if we had that category 5.

I usually stay put during hurricanes, but I’ll seek shelter in case of a tornado.

I've never had to deal with hurricanes living in Canada. We've had some bad storms, but nothing too major where I live.

So far, I haven't experienced such a situation in my life.
If I were to encounter that, I think I will try to evacuate with my loved ones -.-"

I've never experienced a hurricane in my life. If I were to find myself in that situation, I believe I'd evacuate.
