When I'm feeling stressed out by offline problems, like after an intense emotional taxing day, I sometimes like to relax by playing video games at their easiest difficulty levels, because I want to make sure I win. Especially when playing fighting or action games, I like to make sure I beat up some enemies, let off some steam, you know.... If I set the game on 'difficult', I would risk losing, and thus getting even more frustrated than I already was...
I was just wondering if any of you guys do the same...
this is actually a really good question! I don't think I've ever chosen the easy option I always just go for normal Easy just sounds like it won't challenge me and as I don't usually play games through more than once I may as well challenge myself a little.
I mostly play games these days on Easy, I really don't have time to grind or replay battles till I can beat them. I just want to enjoy the battle and story and by enjoy battle I mean own it completely.
I used to all the time just to be sure I could beat the game, but not anymore. There just isn't any challenge in the game on easy. Most of the time, I'll just keep it on normal on the first play. I want to see the story-line in the more than anything. If I replay it, i'll up the difficulty as it often plays like a completely different game.
I have never selected easy mode. I might for some horror games I want to get through - I find games like The Evil Within really hard so I might decide to play that on easy instead just to beat it.
Very rarely, I used to enjoy games on easier difficulty levels but I don't do that as much now. Normal or harder is usually what I play. Except for games where you can change difficulty during gameplay, then I sometimes pull down the difficulty setting during really difficult boss battles and such.
