Gas powered bicycles sometimes make a lot of noise, and sound like gas lawnmowers, so they can be somewhat less comfortable to be around for people who don't like the noise of a small gas engine. There is also a chance that some homemade and poorly built gas powered bicycles have gas engines installed on regular bicycles which have wheels, tires, brakes, gears, and chains which are not designed to handle the power and speed of a more powerful gas engine. But, many store bought electric bicycles are designed to obey the law, and be safely driven at the speed limit for biking roads and sidewalks. Electric bike models are also probably tested for many months to years before they are sold to bicyclist.

If someone bump a part of their body like their hand against a battery or a electric motor, the electric motor probably won't burn them as much as a gas engine because most electric motors run cooler to prevent overheating. I think a gas engine needs to run very hot for the gas engine to be more fuel efficient and work properly.
