http://sites.google.com/ and http://blogger.com are pretty good free webhosting sites for someone who want to make a simple website without writing a lot of HTML.
Do you have a favourite free we or blog bhosting company now that Geocities is dead?

I only used geocities once for a computer class at school. other then that I never used them.
I kind of think Facebook, and Myspace are replacing free web hosting sites for most people since back then the only way to share photos and music with friends easily for free was making a website on geocities, tripod, angelfire, aol, etc or someother free web hosting site. But, now there are social sites, forums, and photosharing sites like flkr which makes it a lot easier for users to share photos without worrying about HTML, web site navigation side bars, php, javascript, and other cryptic languages.
